Over the long weekend most of us would be lazing at home, or out somewhere to shop or catch a movie maybe and our Malay friends would be going around to visit their relatives and friends because it's Hari Raya Puasa. For me however, it's a different story, we were getting ready to leave Singapore!
Let's skip the part where we cross the customs and go straight to our first stop, Taman Ungku Tun Aminah Skudai, yup long long name, it's also a long long street and it's not far away from the M'sia customs.
First thing we noticed here wasn't the food even though we were starving, it's the DiGi shop, getting data on the go seems more important at that time. :P
The prepaid card cost RM8.50 and it comes with RM5 value, i topped up another RM20 so i would have enough money for the unlimited 3G usage for my three days there which cost RM8 per day.
Total Spent : Approx. SGD$12
*got the staff to help setup my phone which had no wake button, everytime the phone sleeps, Angie had to give me miss call :P*
Once we were done, we had our breakfast!
I ordered a plate of Wanton Noodles, i haven't had any Wanton Mee that tastes like this back in Singapore. Simply Awesomeeeeee!
We didn't move off immediately from here, we went around and browsed through the other shops at the area.
Photo of the girls, Mint, Samantha, Angie
We did some crazy stuff while we were there too..
Hahaha! Her Grandfather Road!!
I'm at a payphone so take some pictures maybe. Thanks Angie for the photo!
We got our groceries for steamboat and also got some necessities at the next stop which was only a couple of minutes away before we set off on the long long ride to the homestay where we will be spending the next two nights.
For the next few hours it's all wake and sleep and wake and sleep on the bus.
Also got this Duffy bear looking at me for a couple of hours. hahaha!
Well it was a long ride from JB to Jerantut where we would staying and i was going in and out of sleep and by the time we were there it was already dark and all of us were starving, so Angie's uncle brought us to this restaurant nearby to have our dinner and we held back the steamboat till the next day.
Didn't have much photos here, but i did snap some with my phone
Instagramming away!
Caught a photo of one of the dishes. Yummmmmm
Dinner was super filling and i could barely breathe and it cost us like less than SGD$10 per person.
And yes i forgot to add that we had a guessing game and whoever got the closest answer of the total price of our dinner will get an awesome massage from all of us, Angie won. HAHAHA!
Then Finally! The Homestay!
And this is my shared room with Yongming!
See all of them come in and bully my roommate! hahaha!!
We slept quite a lot while we were on the bus and we were probably all too energetic to sleep.
so..
Out we go to explore our neighborhood!
Alright this photo wasn't meant to be online, it's funny but not too embarrassing so... HAHAHA!!!
My Solo on the road! I can haz flower like Samantha!!!
More of them joined us.
Random photo of an offroad truck
Headed out with William to one of the super dark alleys to try to get shots of stars.
That's one thing you must do if you have a tripod, camera, place with little or no light pollution and clear skies with lots of stars!
Dark Dark Alley
Do note to always be wary of your surrounding, gotta be prepared for anything! Do not do this alone! I will not be held responsible if anything happens to you. :P
DAY TWO
This is the day that all of us look forward to! Why? Because we are going to Bukit Tinggi!
But before we can do that, we need to eat so we can have all the energy we need to to have fun.
Breakfast nearby, anyway there's one thing we need to get used to, we always gotta wait for a few minutes before we can eat because..
One does not simply eat without taking pictures first!!!
My plain looking noodles, do not underestimate this! It's super tasty somehow!
All the other variety of noms on the table
And this particular drink called the Three Coloured Tea, taste like Tehpeng but with a better aroma, definitely a must try!
Once we were full! we set of for Bukit Tinggi! Vroomm!!
It's a two hour journey from our homestay to Bukit Tinggi but i think i took us alittle longer than that.
but here we are. BUKIT TINGGI!!
Went past this Horse Trails place
Then finally! Colmar Tropicale!!
I set my Zorki 4 on self-timer on the tripod for this group photo and it attracted a lot of attention :P
Such a beautiful place!
Angie and Samantha at the entrance which is below...
..This clock tower building
It's like WEEE!! we are finally here!
How it looks like when you're in the street.
Here's the view from the viewing tower at the other end of the street
Then there's the view from top down
Then there's also the view from the other side which is mostly trees and mountains.
There are booths with carnival games too! It's right at the back below the viewing tower.
Some other building shot for afar.
It's a really nice place for photos! Too bad we went on a public holiday and it was really really crowded.
But no matter how crowded it was, we had to take pictures! So here are all the photos of us!
Here's Yong Ming! My Room mate!
Some of the crazy low angle shots in the crowd. :p
Here's me feeling like a tourist.*Wait.. i really was a tourist*
Then there's Angie's solo with the Hello Kitty Cam and Duffy!
Then there's Mint!
Yong Ming, William, Samantha and Angie
Caught Angie Snapping away too. Check out her shots from the Diana Mini here!
It would be so awesome to stay here, even the rooms here are french themed!*Check This Out!*
It's cooling up there because it's high up like a few thousand feet above sea level and the air there is just fresh!
There are also other attractions nearby like petting zoo where rabbits run freely, horse trails, etc but we only visited the Japanese village.
It's an uphill walk through a forest/garden with rocky Japanese styled ground and small streams. Before we reach here, where there's little Japanese huts are.
They also rent out Japanese costumes at RM20 for a short period of time so you could have quick photoshoot here.
We wanted a photoshoot but the didn't have the right sized costume for Duffy so we just shot him naked :P
Leaving the Japanese village, it's a downhill walk by the side of the mountain, I think it was the same way up, i'm not really sure, it was all vegetation around there. :P
We did stop for a group photo together.
And then we will be back at our homestay for steamboat dinner!
Photos before eating all as usual.
Darren at work.
Nom Noms :P
Then there's was this part where Angie was supposed to have special treatment by all of us for making the closest guess of the price of our dinner on the first night and she really wasn't sure if i was a punishment. Hahaha!!
Angie's Uncle took us to a family ktv nearby later that night. And they let Angie and Samantha drive back, How did it feel driving on Malaysia's road? :D
Started Packing up a little after that because we would be leaving early in the morning to Malacca before heading back to Singapore.
Almost forgot, Because it was Hari Raya, we could hear fireworks popping everywhere, have to try setting off our own fireworks someday!
Guess who came to visit before i went to bed?
The neighborhood kitty! It's our last night there so he came over to say goodbye maybe?
DAY THREE!
Day Three was also the last day of our trip. We washed up, packed up and once we stepped out of our homestay, there were hundreds of swallows flying around.
Then it's up the bus for the long long ride to Malacca.
And most of the time we were sleeping, three days of sleeping on the bus had have some impact on me when i got back to Singapore, now i fall asleep easily on moving vehicles and i had already missed my stop by the time i'm typing this post. The air-conditioning broke down on the way here, luckily it wasn't very far from our destination.
Anyway time to wake up, we are in Malacca!
We had our lunch here!
Peranakan Cuisines.
Then there's the desert that everyone was waiting for! Nyonya Chendol!
and the ice is shaved using this old school machine.
And again, Photos more photos before eating!
Anyway the lunch was a treat from our driver, Thanks Uncle Jiaming!
After lunch we had sometime to go to this Jonker street nearby. It feels like a mix of our Haji Lane plus Bugis Street.
There's shops selling snacks and pastries everywhere.
Old schools shops selling souvenirs everwhere.
Angie's loot, the one and only :P
Went around to take photos with Angie.
Red buildings across the bridge, it's also where the christ church melaka is.
Left in a awhile and didn't really had time to buy anything :(
Anyway see my backpack!*Random* They said it looked like hiking bagpack, haha!! Never liked to travel with luggage bagpack is the way to go!
Photo cr: Angie
Hopped on the bus and we were on our way back to Singapore.
crossed the customs and got our passports chopped blah blah blah.
This marks the end of our 3D2N trip, and i spent a total of only a little over $200SGD, and i had lots and lots of fun and the company of our friends. Can't wait for my next trip in September! Bali!! I'm Coming!!
